“My favorite aspect of New Jersey is its biodiversity, as it’s remarkable just how many ecosystems are found within its relatively small area which leads to such a rich variety of plant and animal life. Within NJ Round Valley Reservoir holds a special place in my life. I have camped, dove, and hiked there for my whole life as it changed and grew alongside me further fueling my drive to pursue Environmental Science.”

“My favorite aspect of New Jersey is the opportunity to travel, hike, and camp in diverse natural settings. My favorite natural place in NJ is Stephens State Park, as it has been the best camping spot I have had the chance to stay at. It is home to a beautiful stream, where you are able to sit by and relax, along with amazing camping spots. The work of RNJCC is important to me because my love for nature drives my desire to positively impact the land and empower others to do the same.”

“I enjoy hiking along the bouldery river bank at Schooley’s Mountain County Park on a misty fall day. To me, human success cannot be separated or prioritized over environmental health because as nature ourselves, humans are indivisibly dependent on the natural world. Having lived on homesteads and organic farms, I wish to help people in New Jersey lead lives that promote nature’s flourishing and their own.”

“New Jersey holds a special place in my heart due to its incredible diversity. From farmlands and sandy beaches to Pinelands and the scenic Skylands, New Jersey has much to offer! One of my favorite natural spaces is Old Man’s Creek Preserve, which features a vast amount of biodiversity across its eight trails to explore! RNJCC’s work is important to me because we get to make a positive impact first hand in the community and environment of New Jersey.”

“New Jersey’s diverse landscapes make it truly special, from its sandy shores to vast forests, while also being densely populated and situated amid three large cities. Long Beach Island stands out to me as my favorite natural place in NJ. I grew up going there with my family and friends to spend a day on the beach or to take one of the scenic hiking trails. RNJCC’s work is important to me because we are working towards creating a healthier environment, as well as working towards educating the public. Rewilding not only enhances the environment for people and wildlife today but also preserves it for future generations, ensuring a thriving ecosystem.”

“What I adore most about New Jersey is how each part of the state is a different landscape and lifestyle. I am grateful that I live in an area where I can drive one hour south and experience the beautiful east coast, while also driving an hour up north and emerge myself in cities that have endless opportunities. RNJCC is important to me because it connects the environment to communities and helps locals engage with the natural environment around them.”
